Here’s how to do the Progressive Muscle Relaxati Here’s how to do the Progressive Muscle Relaxation Technique in Detail 👇🏽

When: Every day for 10 minutes

👉🏼 Step 1: Find a Quiet Space

Lie down in a relaxed position

👉🏼 Step 2: Take 3 Deep Breaths

Exhale deeply, inhale deeply to relax your body

👉🏼 Step 3: Tense and Release

- Begin with your toes. Curl them tightly for 5 seconds.

- Release the tension suddenly and let your toes relax completely for 15 seconds.

- Move up to your calf muscles. Tighten them for 5 seconds.
- Release and relax for 15 seconds.

- Continue this process, working your way up through your thighs, stomach, chest, arms, and neck, 

tensing each muscle group for 5 seconds and then relaxing for 15 seconds.

👉🏼 Step 4: Focus on the Sensation

Pay attention to the tension in your muscle.

As you release observe the tension melting away from your body

👉🏼 Step 5: Appreciate Your Breath

Repeat each muscle group 3 times.

✨ Enjoy your new deeply relaxed, meditative state.

In the fast-moving world of sports you need to keep up.

Here’s how to STOP Negative THOUGHTS 👇🏽

1. 🛑  S - 💨 SLOW Down your breathing. 

Take 3-4 deep breaths to center your attention

It deactivates the amygdala 🧠 (fear center)

2. 🛑 T - 🎯 TARGET - Focus on your target. 

Turn your attention to your equipment and grip, racket, ball, basket, board, or frame.

It activates the visual cortex (makes you see) 🧠 👁️

3. 🛑 O - 🥅 OPTIONS - Check your Options. 

What moves, strategies or shots can you make next? 

What are the places you can shoot, or people you can pass to?

It optimizes the prefrontal cortex 🧠 (the decision-maker)

4. 🛑 P - 🤽🏼‍♀️PERFORMANCE - Focus on your Performance. 

Once you chose your target and options, focus on your NEXT MOVE. 🏸 

This Activates a 🌊 FLOW state in the motor cortex 🧠 (the movement-maker)

Use the 4 S.T.O.P. sequence to REFOCUS your attention from negative thoughts to positive performance.

This changes blood flow in your brain and makes you focus better. 💪🏼
